And then all of a sudden, this huge crop of cool shows appeared, giving the other networks a run for their money for the first time in many years. Since the early days of CSI and Survivor, CBS has been the most watched network on television.
Heading into the 2008-09 season, CBS is sticking to that winning primetime formula by making very few changes to the schedule. Five series have been canceled, but three intriguing new dramas are on tap for the upcoming season and they certainly sound promising. Spoiled rich kids living in fabulous zip codes is the name of the game this fall on the CW!
Before the pilot episode was even written, the 90210 spinoff began generating an incredible amount of buzz. Could this be the one show that finally propels the CW into the same Nielsen orbit as the others? Will the series live up to all the hype? As a huge fan of the original 90210, I can't wait to bring the zip back into my living room this fall! Find out what's new on the CW and where your favorite shows landed on the primetime schedule.... Four years ago, ABC finally struck gold with new series such as Desperate Housewives, Lost and Grey's Anatomy. Each season thereafter, another crop of new series arrived. Confident that a successful primetime schedule is now intact, ABC is putting it all on the line by adding only one new drama series and canceling five others.

The object of my I can't help but think that if only those Nielsen gods would just bestow that magical box in my home, I could become the Clark Kent/Buffy Summers/Sydney Bristow of all those underdog shows constantly in danger of cancellation. In the case of Reaper, I am pleased to report that the CW has renewed the series! The show is scheduled to return midseason for 13 episodes. Did the Devil make them do it? Who cares -- I'm going to get my weekly dose of "Sock" next season. Life is good in TV land. Photo: © The CW Network, LLC. All Rights Reserved. This coming week is the biggest in the television world as the networks deliver their upfront presentations (a.k.a. fall schedules) to advertisers and reporters in New York City. This week we'll learn which new shows have been picked up, whether or not those "on the bubble" shows will return this fall and where everything will land on the 2008-09 primetime schedule.
The following is the upfront schedule: Monday, May 12

Sunday May 11, 2008 | permalink | comments (0) Kelly Taylor Will Return to 90210 The great Aaron Spelling was responsible for making huge stars out of actors such as Heather Locklear, Shannen Doherty, Marcia Cross, Farrah Fawcett and even his own daughter Tori. When Beverly Hills 90210 hit the scene in 1990, it made instant stars out of the entire cast, including a relatively unknown actress at the time named Jennie Garth.
During her 10-year run on 90210, Jennie Garth's famous character Kelly Taylor: stole Dylan from Brenda, almost died in a fire, unwittingly joined a cult, became a cocaine addict, was kidnapped and almost murdered, she was raped and then killed her attacker, opened a boutique with Donna and the list goes on and on....We loved every minute! Kristin at E! Online reports that Garth will indeed bring Kelly Taylor back to 90210. All we know about the role right now is that Kelly will be working as a guidance counselor at West Beverly Hills High School (I guess Mrs. Teasley retired). The role is recurring and it's unclear how involved Garth's character will be with the rest of the cast. Perhaps Donna Martin and Dylan McKay will soon follow? As a huge zip code fan from back in the day, I can't help but remain optimistic. Photo by Frederick M. The annual upfront presentations hit New York next week, so naturally those cancellation rumors are running rampant. Although the networks have already issued renewals to most of their shows, those "on the bubble" series are about to find out whether or not they have earned a spot on the 2008-09 primetime schedule.
Over on ABC, several shows are in danger and it looks as though pink clips may have already been issued:

The actor was arrested on April 28 when a patrol officer spotted his vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road, with Dourdan asleep in the driver's seat. After observing him to be "disoriented and possibly under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs," the officer searched the car and found prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, cocaine, heroin and ecstasy. He was arrested and posted bail five hours later. Following an investigation, People Magazine reports that the Riverside County District Attorney's office has charged Dourdan (under his real name: Robert Gary Durdin) with one count each of possessing heroin, cocaine and ecstasy. Will the soon-to-be former CSI star go to prison? Probably not since California offers a drug-diversion program. Riverside District Attorney spokesman Michael Jeandron states that, "upon successful completion of such a drug-treatment program, the charges could be dismissed." Dourdan is scheduled to be arraigned on May 28. Many of the new 2007-08 offerings have been less than stellar and only a few have earned a permanent spot on my precious Tivo. This brilliant dramedy has consistently kept me completely entertained each week and earned that series pass before the credits began rolling in the very first episode.
While I dearly love all of the characters on Reaper, the one I find most entertaining is Tyler Labine, who plays the scene-stealing Bert 'Sock' Wysocki on the series. I had the incredible opportunity to chat with Tyler and found this talented actor to easily be one of the funniest guys around! Find out what Tyler had to say about his character on the show, who he is dying to share a scene with and how he gets along with the rest of the cast. More About Reaper
